Napoleon Hill built the Nettleton Hotel which opened in 1899 under the management of the Nettleton family. It was a large, upscale hotel which catered to tourists and vacationers. From its vantage point on a bluff near Mammoth Spring, the hotel boasted spectacular views of the Spring River, dams, Roller Mill, and train depot. The Nettleton operated successfully until November 30, 1932, when it was destroyed in a fire.
This color postcard shows the front side of the Nettleton Hotel in Mammoth Spring.
