Know all men by these presents that we Peyton R
Pitman as principal and Franklin W Taylor as secutiry
are held and firmly bound unto the County Treasurer
of the County of Lawrence in Arkansas Territory
for the time being and successors in office in the
penal sum of One hundred Dollars, which payment
well and truly to be made we bind ourselves, our heirs
administrators and assigns, firmly by these presents as
witness our hands and seals this 16th day of July AD
1831__
The Condition of the above obligation is such
that whereas the Country Court of Lawrence County in
Arkansas Territory did on the 5th day of July AD
1831 at the July Term thereof Grant unto the above
bounden[sic] Peyton R Pitman, a licence[sic] to keep a ferry
on and over Current River at his Residenc[sic] for the
Term of One year from the date aforesaid; Now
therefore if the said Peyton R Pitman, shall well
and truly do and perform all and singular the duties
of ferry-man[sic] according to Law, and the form of
the statute in such cases made and provided, then this
Obligation to be void and of none[sic] effect otherwise
to Remain in full force and Virtue in Law
